"A colorful, welcoming refuge where childhood gets a second chance.”
Albergue Infantil | DIF - State of Mexico Healthcare Institutional
Architectural design and construction for RENACER, a temporary shelter providing protection and care for children from birth to 11 years 11 months who are in vulnerable legal situations. The facility houses children from Huixquilucan and neighboring municipalities while their legal status is resolved, offering psychological support, medical attention, education, and balanced nutrition until they can be safely reintegrated with their families.
The design uses a sequence of bold, individually colored volumes, turquoise, lime green, magenta, and violet, set behind a glass canopy entrance, giving the facility a playful, welcoming identity that stands apart from a typical institutional building. The composition signals warmth and safety to the children it serves while keeping a clear, organized layout for staff and visiting family members.
Scope of work included full architectural design and construction documentation, from concept through construction ready drawings and whole construction.
